Necklace - "High Noon over the Bay"

This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Two hammered, scratched, and otherwise hand-altered raw brass demi-lunes link together to form a full-faced Sun. Suspended from it is a rough chunk of dyed quartz, in a lovely shade of aqua-blue. All of the brass components of the necklace are covered in heavy Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open sky and salty air on Grand Manan Island - to “age”. The “chain” is made of various raw brass connectors. There is no closure - the necklace slips over your head.
This necklace invokes images of full sun over the Bay of Fundy on warm, sparkling summer days. The sky sometimes blends with the ocean, and the horizon is but a faint line far, far away. Birds soar in high breezes, heading to destinations known to them alone. Weirs pierce the water’s surface ~ like fences coralling invisible treasure. It’s high noon over the bay.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the necklace. Doing so will alter the patina and dangles. If the necklace gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
