Earrings - "Hummingbird Song"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: These feminine earrings were inspired by the light mobility and dexterity of hummingbirds. Two raw brass half-moons are articulated to form circles. From these are suspended premium faceted Czech glass beads in beguiling shades of lilac and mauve. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

Hummingbirds are amazingly abundant on Grand Manan Island and, consequently, at Fernleigh Ridge. Each summer, they treat us to endless delight - we love watching them at our 6 feeders and dodging them (literally) as they buzz us on the deck and as we traverse the property. The Ridge is full of flowers - both those planted by Mother Nature and those added by us - always with the hummingbirds in mind. They must feel comfortable among us because they visit our kitchen window feeder all the time, and even rest in the brambles and rosebushes for a little respite. Charming, disarming creatures they are.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 3/8”, 6cm - slightly shorter if selecting Option A for earwires.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
