Earrings - "Fisherman's Mother II"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: These longer earrings are all about circles and half-circles - reminiscent of the Moon and the cycles of life on Grand Manan Island, including the tides. All of the brass components are covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

The ocean is a life-giving force, including on Grand Manan Island. Its face changes from season to season but it remains constant in its amazing energy and meaningful presence. It’s a source of sustenance for many inhabitants of the area - fauna, flora and humans too. It employs many local fishermen whose Mothers await their return at the end of the day and even the night.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
